Since 2018 and Family Piknik Music’s launch, label founders & long-time music partners Tom Pooks & Joy Kitikonti have managed to catch many great remixers to emphasize their work as A&R. In 5 years, the label has built a sold collection of remixes, including ones of the biggest names from the international electronic music scene, such as John Digweed, Marc Romboy, Booka Shade, Hernan Cattaneo, Popof, Quenum, Sascha Braemer, Kolombo, OIivier Giacomotto... But there are also a lot of the new generation involved in that remix collection, with newcomers from different horizons. Talented new artists who climbed the charts with us, from German’s progressive stalwarts Stereo Express and Darin Epsilon to Polish rising star Gigee, through French jewels Invoker, Nørequest and The Dualz, Italian groove master Cioz, Belgium’s sure player Nico Morano or young Israeli creative Kadosh & Matara. Paulo Malde, aka Who Else, has joined our Family after several quality releases on our music label. He is now part of our roster for his European bookings. Based in Barcelona from June to October, Who Else is ready to grow as one of the more promising DJs among the international Melodic scene. Already supported by many artists, including Solomun, Tale of Us, Massano, Vintage Culture, Eelke Kleijn, Cassian, Kevin de Vries... Definitely someone to watch out !
ME & HER RELEASES 'HEROES' ON FAMILY PIKNIK MUSIC
ME & Her is a German born artist who has played across Europe, South Africa, India and the United States. She is a strong willed character who does things her own way. With this alias she focuses on sophisticated techno. 'Heroes' is a deep rolling tune with a captivating groove that is overlaid with spine tingling vocals. They bring an emo edge to the late night atmospheres as wispy pads add future further details. Heroes (NØREQUEST Remix) is then more turbulent and dark, with frosted textures and menacing bass all building the pressure. Heroes (Abstraal Remix) closes out with a more layered, percussive sound that is moody and perfect for the back rooms. This is another vital EP on Family Piknik Music.
